Jim Carter would "rather amputate his left leg" than dress up as his 'Downton Abbey' character for fans' weddings.
The 67-year-old actor - who plays butler Mr. Carson in the ITV period drama - has admitted he's been asked numerous times to attend fans' weddings dressed as his much-loved character.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz about his plans for the future, he shared: "Some people have charmingly and bizarrely asked me if I'd like to go to the wedding of their son and daughter and be a butler and I've charmingly said no.
"I think I'd rather amputate my left leg than do that ... 'It's very sweet of you to think that a fictional character would want to turn up at your son's wedding' ... And as if I take a costume with me when I go home at night so, no, I'll be saying no to that one."
Jim also confessed he hates it when fans ask him to take selfies with them.
He explained: "'Can I have a selfie?' The bloody women, they go around and they look totally different [to their characters]. This nose and these eyebrows and the voice, I've had it haven't I? 'Can I have a selfie?' Why? I'm not rude, I'm charming about it so they don't mind at all."
Meanwhile, the 'Golden Compass' actor is looking forward to spending more time in his garden now that the show is coming to an end.
He added: "I'm going out to LA for the Emmys and stuff so I've got lots of stuff happening. A bit of gardening is what I want to do, get in my garden."
