Jeremy Vine has been confirmed for 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
The BBC Radio 2 presenter is the first contestant to be confirmed for the 13th series of the shows, which is set to kick off next month, revealing the news on Chris Evans' Radio 2 breakfast show.
He said: "They asked me and I just thought I just turned 50 this year I've got to start dancing properly. I can't go into the dad dancing.
"How could I say no to the biggest show in TV? Yes, yes, yes and yes again to the sequins and the Samba!"
The 50-year-old broadcaster hosts a daily programme on the radio station as well as being known for presenting BBC Two's 'Eggheads' and BBC One's 'Points Of View' on Sundays.
However, his daughters are not as excited about him appearing on the forthcoming series, with Jeremy joking they "jumped behind the sofa" when he revealed the news to them.
He added: "I just need to find some dancing shoes and identify my left foot. I am doing it for my two young daughters who jumped behind the sofa when I told them!
"It seems Dad on 'Strictly' is more scary than 'Doctor Who'!"
The series will be presented by Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly, with other competitors rumoured to be taking part including Robbie Williams' wife Ayda Field and broadcasting duo Richard and Judy.
