With Chris Tarrant’s hosting duties left up for grabs in the upcoming ITV comeback of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has stepped up to the plate, and can be seen making his way to the studio for the brand new series in a thrilling new promo for the show. Check out Clarkson’s debut below:
Produced by Stellify Media with filming in Manchester, the show will see members of the public once again take on 15 questions in a bid to win £1,000,000. Familiar lifelines 50:50, Ask The Audience and Phone A Friend make their comeback along with the show, and some new twists and surprises have been promised by those behind-the-scenes.
Clarkson said of his new job: “I have always loved the show and am thrilled to be involved with its rebirth. I’m a big fan of quiz shows and I’m looking forward to hosting this iconic TV show and hopefully making a few millionaires!”
Head of Entertainment at ITV, Siobhan Greene added: “It felt like a no brainer to celebrate a show that was a trail blazer of its time and broke the mould. In doing this one off special week, I hope Millionaire will be introduced to a whole new generation. And with TV legend Jeremy Clarkson asking the questions, frankly anything could happen. I can’t wait.”
There’s no news yet on exactly when the show will be making its official comeback, but we imagine it won’t take too long before the series broadcasts in its familiar ITV home. Let’s just hope that this time round, there’s no contestant with a friend in the audience coughing when the right answers are read out!
We’ll bring you more Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? news as and when we get it.
