Jeremy Clarkson is getting into brewing low and no alcohol beer.
The famously booze-loving ‘Clarkson’s Farm’ star, 63, has trademarked a brand of teetotal drinks called Diddly Fresh, in a nod to his 312-acre Diddly Squat farm in Chipping Norton, Chadlington, which features on the Amazon show about his efforts to become a farmer.
It was reported by the Sunday Mirror Jeremy’s application to the UK’s Intellectual Property Office “covers low-alcohol and non-alcoholic beer and wine”.
It added his partner Lisa Hogan, 50, has invested in a brewer of low alcohol booze to sell at their Cotswolds farm shop near Chadlington, Oxon.
Former ‘Top Gear’ host Jeremy revealed he was the unhealthiest he had ever been in lockdown after “drinking himself silly”.
He has also told fans: “I drink a lot. On holiday I would have two beers before lunch, a bottle of rosé with it, a banana daiquiri for pudding, a snooze in the afternoon, four rum punches before dinner, another bottle of wine with that, then pina coladas to get in the mood for more sleeping.”
Jeremy is challenging the local council’s decision to shut down a restaurant he opened on Diddly Squat Farm, but as he already sells alcohol in his Diddly Squat Farm Shop he may not need an additional alcohol licence.
West Oxfordshire District Council has refused him permission for him to extend the car park at the store, which is regularly swamped by the presenter’s fans – sparking complaints from locals about them causing traffic jams and damage to land.
Jeremy was told in 2020 by doctors to stop drinking for the sake of his health, but told The Sun a year later he wouldn’t “tone it down”, adding he was going to “switch the booze” by abandoning his favourite “lady juice” of rosé
wine in favour of his Hawkstone lager.
He told the publication about launching the beer: “I wanted to have a brewery so I could have a p***-up in it.
“Now I can go back to my old careers teacher and say, ‘You see? I told you I could do it!’
“It is a very well-made beer. I’m out for world domination. Nothing less will do.”
