With the news last year that Jon Bernthal would be joining the second season of Daredevil as fan favourite character Punisher, hype has only grown and now, series producer Jeph Loeb has said that Bernthal's performance is destined to make an impact.
He told ComicBook.com: "Jon Bernthal has succeeded in his quest... His Punisher is extraordinarily memorable, in every way."
The darker side of the Frank Castle character is going to be explored in Daredevil's second season, after many attempts of bringing him to the big screen seemed to fall flat. Whilst he's a superhero he has no qualms about doing whatever it takes to achieve his goals, bordering on psychotic at times.
Loeb also touched on Elektra's (Elodie Yung) addition to the cast, and how she'll be fitting into the overall narrative: "What's fantastic about the story is that it's created this enormous division in his life, because the woman that he once loved has returned, and she certainly has some issues with morality, and how you get the job done, and going on the other end of the spectrum is Frank Castle, who believes that justice needs to be served in a particular way."
Daredevil season two debuts on Netflix on March 18, with the first season available now alongside Jessica Jones season one. Luke Cage season one comes later this year, with release dates expected within the year for Iron Fist and The Defenders.
