Duncan James is convinced Jennifer Metcalfe is expecting a baby girl.

The 'Hollyoaks' actress may have only just announced she's pregnant with her first child but her co-stars have known about her happy news for "ages" and are currently taking bets on what they think the sex of her unborn tot, who is due in the summer, will be.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz earlier this week, Duncan said: "I've known about Jen for ages. I'm really happy for her. I know this is a big deal for her and I'm just so excited. We've got bets on whether it's going to be a boy or girl. I thought it was going to boy but now I'm leaning towards a girl. I thought boy at first but now I've had this realisation in my head and I keep working with her so I think it's a girl."

Jennifer and her partner Greg Lake, who have been dating since 2012, are set to welcome their little one into the world in around 10 weeks' time but have decided not to find out the sex of the baby until it's born because they want it to be a "surprise."

Greg said recently: "No we're not going to find out the sex. We're having a surprise. I did initially want to but Jen has always wanted a surprise."

Jennifer added: "I feel like I'm the one who's got to go through labour, so if I've got a little surprise at the end, it might get me through however many hours it's going to be! We can't wait to meet the little man or lady. We have a few names but we're going to keep them to ourselves."
