The 29-year-old actress thinks it is "ridiculous" she cried after shooting her final scenes because her departure had been planned for so long.

She said: "[The last time I cried] was on Saturday when I left 'Doctor Who'. I knew for a year I was leaving so it was ridiculous to get emotional.

"I'd planned all these things I wanted to say but only got two words out.

"I am emotional but I don't usually like to cry in front of other people."

Jenna admits it was a tough decision to walk away from the show as she knows she'll never do something like it again.

She added: "It was a really emotional decision to make but you know when you join that it will only last a certain amount of time.

"I'll never do anything like that again, it's so unique and magical."

Despite her successful acting career, the former 'Emmerdale' star rarely watched films or TV when she was younger.

Asked if she was a film buff as a teenager, she told Stylist magazine:" No, weirdly not at all. I used to read a lot.

"My family didn't really watch TV either, or at least I didn't. I don't know what I was doing."
