Jed Mercurio has written a graphic sci-fi novel.
The 'Bodyguard' creator has teamed up with actor Prasanna Puwanaraja - who he worked with on 2018 drama 'Critical' as well as an episode of 'Line of Duty' - for a new project called 'Sleeper', which is set in the 24th century and has been illustrated by Coke Navarro.
The description for the comic - which will be released on Thursday (05.08.21) - reads: "The first in a hotly anticipated new graphic novel series DS-5, a biologically-enhanced law enforcement marshal, is due to be decommissioned after decades in deep space.
"He returns to a solar system finally rising out of a devastating climate war following the discovery of a miraculous new energy source: Titan Green.
"His pod crashes on Titan following a mysterious explosion, and DS-5 deploys for his final mission: an investigation into mass murder that becomes entwined with a geologist's quest for her missing father.
"But as DS-5's ageing tech begins to fail, human faculties and memories resurface, forcing him to confront the dark provenance of his recruitment."
'Line of Duty' fans are waiting for news on a potential seventh season of the BBC One police corruption drama - including Queen Elizabeth.
It's said the 95-year-old royal and her late husband The Duke of Edinburgh - who died in April at the age of 99 - were looked after by a group of aides during lockdown. They became known as “HMS Bubble” and were headed up by 63-year-old Vice Admiral Sir Tony Johnstone-Burt.
A royal source previously said the queen particularly enjoyed "discussing the plotlines" of the show with Tony.
The insider said: “The queen was very into 'Line of Duty' and enjoyed discussing the plotlines with Tony.”
