Jason Ritter is to make an appearance in a future episode of Girls.
The 34-year-old actor is set to have a role playing a character named Scott in the fourth series which will premiere in 2015, TVLine reports.
No other character details are available as yet.
'Girls' which is created by and stars Lena Dunham is a comedy/drama that follows a group of twenty-somethings living in New York City and is inspired by some of the actress' own experiences.
Lena plays lead Hannah Horvath, who is an aspiring writer in her mid-twenties living in Brooklyn and when her parents cut her off financially she's forced to find paid work.
The cast also includes Allison Williams (Marnie Marie Michaels), Jemima Kirke (Jessa Johansson), Zosia Mamet (Shoshanna Shapiro), Adam Driver (Adam Sackler) and Alex Karpovsky (Ray Ploshansky).
Critics lauded the show after it premiered in April 2012 for its refreshing tone and realistic portrayal of women and relationships.
Meanwhile, Ritter recently appeared on NBC's 'Parenthood' and his other credits include 'Joan of Arcadia', 'The Class', 'Gravity Falls' and 'The Event'.
