Fired 'Apprentice' star Jason Leech has revealed he made a pre-agreement with his team that he would leave if they lost last night's (19.06.13) task.

The 29-year-old historian was given the boot from the BBC One programme by Lord Alan Sugar after his team Evolve failed to create a better advertising campaign for a new dating website than rivals Endeavour, and after abdicating from his role as Project Manager, Jason held his hands up.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "There is something you didn't see on the show where I reassured my team that if we lost the task then I would go.

"I said I would not fight it, I would not contestant it in the boardroom, I would answer all questions fully and honestly but I would not point my finger at anybody else and say that they should go before me. That was my call to rally the troops and get some unity."

Jason admits he was doomed from the second he resigned as Project Manager during the task, but insists Luisa Zissman, who took over the role from him, left him no choice after wearing him down throughout the day.

He added: "You can't resign as Project Manager, whether it's for the greater good or whatever, and expect to stay in the process. So it was fair and I think Sugar spotted it.

"Luisa wore me down throughout that day. She is a very powerful and potent person, and so is Neil in a sense.

"I don't want to speak for Luisa but it did seem as though she was thinking, 'Jason is quite weak now. If he is made weaker then I'm in the clear.'

"I think I went as far as could on the show. At the end of the day 'The Apprentice' is not the be all and end all. There was life before and there is life after. I loved being on it, it was a great privilege.

"It's Lord Sugar's boardroom, it's Lord Sugar's process, so if he felt he ought to fire me then it wasn't a surprise. It had to be right."

'The Apprentice' returns on Wednesday June 26 at 9pm on BBC One.
