The pair have agreed new contracts with Channel 4, meaning they'll both be appearing in the next series of the hit show in 2022.

A spokesperson said: "We can confirm that Foxy and Billy will be part of the new series, airing next year.

"Other members of this elite squad will be confirmed nearer the time.”

Jason and Billy's futures were thrown into doubt when Channel 4 axed the outspoken Ant Middleton from the series amid concerns about his personal conduct.

And the makers of the series have now decided to cast their net overseas in search of Ant's replacement.

A TV insider has revealed that Channel 4 is even considering recruiting a brutal US Navy Seal for the next series of the show.

The source told The Sun newspaper: "They want to add an international instructor to the cast for the next series later this year and are especially keen on a Seal, it’s got glamour and they know having a tough talking American on the show is only going to add some star quality.

"It may also ruffle a few of the other instructors’ feathers, as they feel it’s all a bit too matey at the moment, they want it to be edgy on and off the camera."

Despite this, there are mixed feelings behind the scenes about the idea, with some people fearing it could dilute the show.

The insider added: "There are some in the camp who think this is a brilliant idea, while others have reservations how it’ll work and the public opinion on a former Seal and whether they think it’s diluting the show. There’s nothing more prestigious than the SAS."
