Jason Donovan and Rebekah Vardy have impressed the 'Dancing on Ice' backstage team after their initial training sessions.
The cast of the 2021 series have been scored by the ice skating show's production, and the ex-'Neighbours' star is said to be topping the charts so far, but the former 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' campmate - who is the wife of professional footballer Jamie Vardy - isn't too far behind.
A source said: "Every year the stars are secretly scored by production to see how well they’re getting on.
"Jason is by far the best but Becky wasn’t too far behind. Although she was nervous, she’s turning out to be a frontrunner. The coaches and choreographers were really impressed by their progress.
"It’s one of the toughest shows but both Becky and Jason have really thrown themselves into training."
'Emmerdale' actor Joe-Warren Plant - who plays Jacob Gallagher - is also said to have "really impressed" production, while ex-'Coronation Street' actress Faye Brookes, former 'EastEnders' star Denise Van Outen, and retired Olympian Colin Jackson all rated as "promising".
The source added to The Sun newspaper: "Joe and Vanessa have really been putting in the hours. He could be the dark horse.
"Joe is only 18 so people weren’t sure if he’d take the show seriously but he’s really impressed."
However, comedian Rufus Hound is said to have scored worst out of the contestants for the time being.
The 'Trollied' star previously joked he is only taking part in the show for the pay cheque.
He said: "I'm doing it for the money. I don't know if you've heard, but about six months ago this global pandemic hit and made just about everything I've ever done to earn a pound note disappear!
"And so this point has arrived and they said 'We'll pay you' and I said 'Do you know something? I love ice skating!'"
