Jason Bell says 'Strictly Come Dancing' "dominates" everything in his life.
The NFL star is taking part in the current series of the BBC One latin and ballroom show and he admits he is constantly working on his dances to get them perfect for Saturday night.
He said: "It dominates everything. Once you get out there on the dance floor, you understand what it takes to do it again and again. It takes me a lot of time to get prepared for that Saturday night show, so I try to do as much training as is possible."
And the 42-year-old sports star has heaped praise on his professional partner, Luba Mushtuk, who has been "adjusting" her training styles to help him best.
He added: "I’ve been around a lot of coaches in my life. The ones that want you to be successful all have similar traits: they really care about your performance and want to help you achieve to your highest ability. Luba is one of those coaches. I don’t want to let her down because she spends so much time trying to help me get ready ... If you reach the top of your profession, you understand how much work goes into reaching that level and you know you can’t replicate that in just one week. My career taught me what kind of learner I am, so when Luba is working hard to get me ready, I can tell her how I process information best. She’s so good at thinking on her feet and adjusting our training to help me, we work so well together."
Jason already knows he will continue dancing after the show is over because being on the dancefloor is "really helping" with recovery from some existing injuries.
Speaking to inews.co.uk, he shared: "A lot of the areas I was really weak in, that need to be stronger because of injuries I have, I can feel the dancing is really helping. I will continue to dance. It’s fun and I love the challenge. And it’s always exciting getting out on the dance floor and seeing if it all worked out."
