Jamie Oliver's son can't stand his food, and the youngster's criticism "nearly broke" the celebrity chef.
The 46-year-old star has told how the youngest of his brood, his five-year-old son River, was not a fan of the grub he served up during his hit lockdown TV series 'Keep Cooking and Carry On', and he jokingly compared his kid to "the worst customer ever".
Speaking on 'The Chris Moyles Show on Radio X', he said: "My youngest son River, who’s now five, was four at the time and he’s got such an amazing personality. But every time I cook food he tells me how disgusting it is. He’ll say, ‘I hate it, I don’t like it, it’s disgusting, I never said I’d have that.'
"He’s like the worst customer ever. We had 16 hours to turn the show around every day. In the end, I was getting so much abuse from my four year old it nearly broke me twice."
'Keep Cooking and Carry On' aired on Channel 4 last year.
The 20-part series explored recipes that were simple and could be cooked at home, showcasing dishes such as beef and oxtail stew and a one-pan breakfast.
Jamie's comments come just weeks after he announced his next venture - a TV quest to find the next big thing in cooking.
Channel 4 is set to air the seven-part series next year, where one lucky chef will win a book deal with Penguin Random House.
In a statement, Jamie said: "I am just so excited to get out there and discover incredible new talent, new perspectives, and new approaches to cooking and food."
