James Martin is to guest-host 'This Morning' next week.
The 43-year-old television chef will front the mid-morning show alongside Ruth Langsford next Friday (29.04.16) while her husband Eamonn Holmes - who underwent a double hip replacement earlier this year - has a day off to recuperate.
He said: "I am really excited to be part of a show that has been a staple for so many people. It will be a real pleasure."
James' exciting new gig comes a month after he announced he was hanging up his apron and waving goodbye to the tummy-gurgling show 'Saturday Kitchen', which he fronted for a decade, in order to focus on new forthcoming projects.
And if the culinary genius proves to be a big hit with the viewers when he steps into Eamonn's shoes next week, bosses will reportedly consider bringing him back again.
A source close to 'This Morning' told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "James is very much looking forward to being part of ITV daytime and as well as guest hosting the show, he also hopes to show viewers some of his cooking skills in the studio 8 kitchen too. If viewers approve of the move then I'm sure bosses will be keen for him to join the 'This Morning' family for items across summer."
Meanwhile, although James has stepped away from his tasty show, the chef hasn't turned away from the kitchen completely as he still fronts 'Saturday Kitchen Best Bites', which airs on BBC Two, on Sunday mornings.
