James Martin doesn't think he'd want to join the new 'Top Gear' line-up because he doesn't want to spoil his love of cars.
The 'Saturday Kitchen' host is a well-known racing fanatic and vehicle collector and has been linked with a role on Chris Evans' revamped motoring show.
But James insists Chris hasn't contacted him about a the BBC series and he has major reservations about turning his hobby into a job any way.
Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, James said: "Everybody's asking me about 'Top Gear'. Chris Evans has not phoned me yet, I've got nothing to do with it. Seriously I'd rather do my cars and my bikes and enjoy it. Because I think if you start doing that for a living and as a job, the pressures are different."
Although he's ruling himself out of a 'Top Gear' job, James is combining his passion for food and love of cars for a live show, 'Plates, Mates & Automobiles', he is going to tour the UK with next year.
The dates will feature a range of cars and motorbikes from his personal collection on stage but he insists it's different to critiquing vehicles on TV.
Speaking about his tour, James, 43, said: "I like doing what I'm doing because I can come in and out of it. They won't allow me to race cars when I'm on this tour, but I guarantee when it's finished I'll be straight in the race car and flying because that's what I enjoy. I enjoy that side of it. I enjoy the car collecting and the bike collecting. There'll be a few of those on stage as well."
