The highly-anticipated revival of Party Down just got even more exciting, as Starzplay revealed that both James Marsden and Jennifer Garner would be a part of the series.

Marsden will step into a key recurring guest role, whilst Garner is listed as a series regular along with other newly-revealed cast members including Tyrel Jackson Williams and Zoë Chao.

Garner will play successful film producer Evie, who is reconsidering her life choices in the wake of a breakup; Marsden meanwhile will play Jack Botty, an actor who plays the lead in a popular superhero series, who enjoys being the centre of everyone's attention.

Williams plays handsome wannabe influencer and internet personality Sackson, described as "knowledgeable and savvy about his specific internet niche, but a bit lost in every other aspect of life"; Chao is passionate 'food artist' Lucy, who dreams of becoming a celebrity chef but doesn't possess the resources to do anything more ambitious than cranking out hors d'oeuvres at Party Down.

These new names join an already-awesome cast, consisting of Ken Marino, Adam Scott, Jane Lynch, Martin Starr, Ryan Hansen and Megan Mullally, who are all reprising their original starring roles.

Though the first two seasons of Party Down originally aired back in 2009 and 2010 on Starz, the cult comedy hit will be making a long-awaited comeback with six new episodes, produced by alumni Rob Thomas, along with iZombie's John Enbom and Dan Etheridge, Ant-Man's Paul Rudd, and Big Little Lies' Adam Scott.

The show follows a catering team in Los Angeles who are stuck working for tips, despite having dreams of making it big in Hollywood. Waiting for their break, they work new events in each episode, which leads to them inevitably getting tangled in chaos with colourful guests and their unbelievable lives.

Party Down is expected to go into production this year, with the first two seasons available via Starzplay. We'll bring you updates on the new season as and when we get it.
