James Jordan didn't think he'd be able to compete in the 'Dancing On Ice' final due to his shoulder injury.

The former 'Strictly Come Dancing' star and his professional partner Alexandra Schauman were crowned the winners of the ITV show following a hard-fought competition against Wes Nelson and Vanessa Bauer on Sunday night (10.03.19) which saw each couple perform three routines, including their own take on Torvill and Dean's iconic 'Bolero'.

However, the 40-year-old dancer has admitted that after sustaining a serious shoulder injury last week he was convinced he wouldn't be able to perform and wasn't able to rehearse his final routine before the live show.

Speaking on 'This Morning', he said: "I fell on my shoulder, I've got a weak shoulder anyway but then that night I couldn't sleep I was agony. I got up in the morning and said, 'I can't move my arm,' and I actually rung the producer straight away and I said, 'You've gotta pull me out the show, my arms gone.' They got me into physio and she spent six hours on my shoulder I was on gas and air which is amazing by the way.

"We missed all the rehearsals all the camera blocks and just went out there and performed probably the best I think we've ever performed."

James added that he didn't want to mention his injury prior to competing against the 'Love Island' star and former 'X Factor' contestant Saara Aalto as it was "about the final" and not his injury.

He said: "I was on painkillers and they also said to me they wanted to put it in the VT and I said no I don't want it in the VT this is about the final and Wes and Sara deserve their place there."
