James Buckley was playing 'Football Manager' during the birth of his first child.
The 'Inbetweeners' actor - whose sex-obsessed character Jay Cartwright once bragged about completing never-ending game 'Championship Manager' - is a big gamer and has put a lot of time into the football simulator.
He told RadioTimes.com: "I've put some hours in that. I was playing Football Manager when my first child was being born.
"Yeah, I took my laptop with me. There wasn't much I could do. Like, you know, I felt a bit useless being there.
"I'm not a doctor or anything, so I just brought my laptop with me. Sat on a chair, next to my wife, and stuck on a bit of 'Football Manager.' "
The 35-year-old star joked he managed to get through a lot while his wife Clair Meek was in labour.
He laughed: "Really rattled through. I think I did a whole season and managed to do a summer transfer window as well."
When it comes to choosing the right team, James likes some variety in his gameplay.
He added: "It depends on how ambitious I'm feeling. Sometimes it's nice to go with a Real Madrid or Man City or something like that, where you know there's a chance to get some success.
"But then, I'm a Crystal Palace fan as well. So sometimes I torture myself and see, 'Oh, what if I was in charge of Crystal Palace? Could I do a better job?'
"Turns out, I can't. So it's fine."
Since 'The Inbetweeners', James has appeared in the likes of 'Zipped' and 'White Gold', and he's returning to the small screen as wheeler-dealer Ashley in upcoming Channel 5 drama 'The Hoard'.
He previously said: "I'm so excited to start filming 'The Hoard'. Ashley is a guy who is confident in his convictions, despite some questionable morals, but I have a feeling he might have bitten off more than he can chew with this one!"
