James Arthur has slammed 'X Factor' wannabes Kingsland Road.

The 25-year-old singer - who won last year's series of the ITV show - has taken to Twitter to hit out at the group, insisting they make him "cringe" and has called for their stint on the competition to come to an end this weekend.

He wrote: "Im sorry but this Kingsland Road have me cringing to the max, they aren't good enough. There time must come to an end this Sunday #xfactor (sic)"

However, the 'You're Nobody 'Til Somebody Loves You' hitmaker has voiced his support for former 'X Factor' groups Union J and One Direction, as well as four-piece boy band Lawson.

He tweeted: "UNION J ALL DAY!!

"Now this is what I'm talking about we have @UnionJworld @onedirection and dare I say @LawsonOfficial (boyband? Not boyband?) Kingsland no (sic)"

However, last month, James slammed One Direction as a "marketing product" in a foul-mouth tirade after a user hailed the boy band as the most successful act to have come out of the TV talent show.

He retweeted a message from a fan which read: "It's ironic that the lowest rating xfactor ever looks like to have produced its biggest star. (sic)"

Twitter user Tyler Lee then responded: "Hate to be a buzz kill but one direction are the highest grossing artists around ATM - James is s**t x. (sic)"

James then branded the 17 year old a "loser" in a series of direct messages, later posted by the user in a screenshot uploaded from his mobile phone.

In his tirade James fumed: "What the f**k is your problem! Why don't you go and invest in a life instead of posting hate on Twitter you sad f***ing idiot.

"And One Direction don't sell records, they are a marketing product. They [sell] T-shirts and dolls you moron. Let's see you eat your words in time. Loser."
