James Argent has signed up to appear on 'The Real Dirty Dancing'.
The former TOWIE star, 33, will compete in the upcoming reality show based on the iconic film.
A source told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: "This show will be perfect for Arg as he's a massive 'Dirty Dancing' fan."
The series will mark the first major television appearance for the reality TV favourite following his stint in rehab for drug addiction.
He will be whisked off to a lakeside location made to replicate the setting of the cult 1980s movie and will learn the routines which Patrick Swayze brought to the screen as Johnny Castle.
Arg will join a lineup of famous faces which includes ex-'Blue Peter' presenter Anthea Turner, 61, and Lee Ryan, 38, from boyband Blue.
James will surely be aided in the competition by his seven-stone weight loss, which he unveiled back in August following gastric band surgery.
A pal of the TV star said: "James has never felt better in his life and the weight has dropped off far more quickly than he ever expected."
James - who appeared on 'The Only Way Is Essex' until 2018 which famously depicted his on-off relationship with Gemma Collins, 40 - took drastic action over his weight after doctors warned him of the danger.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, he said: "It was scary being 27 stone. It was serious, doctors were telling me how dangerous it was. I knew it was something I had to address pretty quickly."
'The Real Dirty Dancing' will hit screens in early 2022 and will be hosted by 'Celebrity Juice' frontman Keith Lemon, 47, and 'Pussycat Dolls' star Ashley Roberts, 40.
In a statement, Ashley said: “I LOVE 'Dirty Dancing', the film literally had a huge impact on my life, and I couldn’t be more excited to be involved in this series. I’m going to be on hand to help out the celebs with their Johnny and Baby moves and look forward to being reunited with Keith. Wish me luck! It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
