Jamelia is set for a guest role on 'Hollyoaks'.
The 40-year-old star will join the cast of the Channel 4 soap as a character named Sharon Bailey for a special Black To Front episode.
Jamelia - who appeared on the show as herself in 2003 - said: "Filming 'Hollyoaks' has been the most fantastic experience'
"I’ve felt like I’ve been around family, I’ve felt so comfortable and so joyous. It’s just been amazing. I can’t believe this is supposed to be work."
Sharon is a friend of Martine Deveraux and the daughter of a new character named Pearl, played by Dawn Hope.
Jamelia's character will feature in an hour-long special that will centre around Walter Devereux's birthday celebrations.
Sharon will also participate in an iconic family dance routine.
Jamelia rose to fame with chart hits like 'Superstar' and 'Thank You', and she previously admitted that she's already exceeded her parents' expectations.
She reflected: "I believe that I've surpassed any aspirations that my parents had for me. Because they were the first generation after Windrush I feel like they were a bit of a lost generation.
"My mum didn't leave school with any GCSEs. Neither did my dad, actually. My mum did go on to do amazing things with her life – she started off volunteering at the local play centre and ended up managing it. Which was a big deal, especially for me, having a front row seat to that ascension."
Jamelia also stressed her desire to "empower" other people.
The TV star - who previously served as a panellist on 'Loose Women' - said: "I think it's very important to become a person that empowers other people."
