Jake Quickenden wants to join 'Coronation Street'.
The 29-year-old singer is hoping to bag a role in the soap after he met Brooke Vincent - who plays Sophie Webster - while they were competing on 'Dancing on Ice' and he thinks he'd be quite good because he's had acting lessons in the past.
Speaking about the possibility of joining the show after Shayne Ward - who portrays factory manager Aidan Connor - leaves in the spring, he said: "I would do it, I can act. I've had a year of acting lessons and it's something I'm quite passionate about. Obviously I'm a fan of Sophie.
"If I had a screen test for 'Corrie', I'd go in and see how I did and if I got it, happy days."
But, in the meantime, Jake needs to focus on the 'Dancing on Ice' final as he's set to take to the ice this weekend in the hope of bagging the famous trophy.
However, he worried fans earlier this week when he revealed he'd dislocated his thumb during rehearsals and was rushed to hospital for an MRI on the bone.
Taking to his Twitter account, he said: "So I hurt my thumb today had to go for xray and MRI scan but I will [100 per cent] be skating on Sunday, I have not come this far to let a sore thumb stop me! Thanks for the nice messages. (sic)"
Jake was awarded the perfect score - 40 out of 40 - by the judges last week, but admitted he won't be able to pull out all the stops in his performance and will have to "play it safe" because of his painful thumb.
He explained when a fan asked why he'd had an MRI scan on his thumb: "Dislocated so just being on the safe side with lifts and stuff mate (sic)."
