Jake Quickenden has signed up for the next series of ‘Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins’.The former ‘X Factor’ star will take part in the celebrity spin-off of the Channel 4 series when it returns to screens next year, as both he and Olympic rowing legend James Cracknell have reportedly signed up for the gruelling show.A source told The Sun Online: "James and Jake are super-fit and should do well given their past pursuits in challenging TV shows. Bosses are keen to have people who won't collapse at the first hurdle.”The pair are no strangers to being put through their paces on TV, as Jake previously entered ‘I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!’ in 2014, whilst James took part in ‘Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls’ in 2018.Jake, 32, and James, 48, are the first celebrities thought to be participating in next year’s series, after it was reported that Gemma Collins turned down a spot.A source said of the ‘TOWIE’ star: "Channel 4 have been desperate to sign Gemma up for the next series as they know she would pull the viewers in and be a ratings hit."But she simply hasn't got the time and doesn't think camouflage and army boots are quite her style anyway."The last series of the gruelling reality show saw Joey Essex take part alongside Katie Price and Brendan Cole, with Paralympic athlete Lauren Steadman and DJ Leon “Locksmith” Rolle walking away as joint winners. And after being crowned victorious, Lauren admitted she’d rather endure the tough trials of the Channel 4 series "10 times” than go back to the ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ dancefloor, after taking part in the 2018 series. She said: "I'd rather do 'SAS' 10 times than go back and do 'Strictly'."I loved doing both and on 'Strictly' it was about being proud of who I am and inspiring people - I got to be a beautiful, glitzy, glamorous girl."But I wanted to show you can be girly and sporty, and 'SAS' just resonated more with me."I'd rather be caked in mud and sweat than fake tan and sequins - I found that tough on 'Strictly'."
