Jake Quickenden admits fatherhood has changed his life.
The 32-year-old star lost his dad Paul and his brother Ollie to cancer, but he now feels longer happier than he has done in a long time after welcoming his son Leo with partner Sophie Church last month.
Jake explained: "This is the first time I’ve been truly happy for a long time. It’s amazing that Leo has been able to do that for me.
"He has added something that was missing. He’s done something that I didn’t think was possible after losing my dad and my brother.
"What I’ve been through has taught me to embrace and enjoy every second of this. At the end of the day, we don’t know how long we’ve got and we don’t know what’s going to happen. I just want to be the best dad, like my dad was."
Despite this, Jake remains sad that his dad and brother aren't still around to meet his son.
He told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "My dad always taught me to always do my best with everything, so it’s a shame he’s not there to be a grandad.
"It’s so sad Ollie won’t meet him either as Leo would have loved him."
Meanwhile, the former 'X Factor' contestant recently hit back at trolls who suggested his baby was "ugly".
Jake took to Instagram to address the trolls.
He wrote: "So in the past week this little man has been told he needs Botox, that he's ugly as f*** and that he's weird looking, me myself have also been told stay off social media if you don't want to be trolled, it's so baffling to me that I should have to stay off social media if I don't want my 4 week old trolled.
"I don't mind people giving me s***, as sad as it is I've had to get used to being called 'irrelevant' 'ugly' 'attention seeking' nd the list goes on but to troll a innocent child is so wrong and the people doing it seriously need to seek help. (sic)"
