Jake Wood has hailed his 'EastEnders' co-star Zack Morris after he was nominated for the Best Actor gong at the Inside Soap Awards.
The 46-year-old star was eager to sing Zack's praises after he revealed the news of his nomination for his role as Keegan Baker in the long-running BBC soap, describing him as a "great" actor.
Replying to Morris on Twitter, Jake said: "Get on it, give @_Zack_Morris a vote, he's a great actor been doing brilliant on the show (sic)"
Morris, 19 - who recently took part in a hard-hitting storyline centered on knife crime - described the recognition from the award show as a "privilege".
He wrote on his own Twitter account: "It's honestly such an privilege to be nominated for Best Actor! So overwhelmed I can't actually believe it! All your votes are madly appreciated! Thank to everyone who's supported me along the way, this ones for you X (sic)"
Meanwhile, Zack previously opened up about how he prepared himself to film some particularly brutal scenes, in which his character survives a neck stabbing and his pal, Shakil Kazemi (Shaheen Jafargholi), is bludgeoned to death by gang members.
Recalling his own preparation for the shoot, he said: "I did some research online and watched some documentaries. The show has also been working with Brooke Kinsella and the Ben Kinsella Trust and they've have been really helpful with research.
"As an actor, you want to be as realistic as possible."
