Golden Globe winner Robin Wright is set to make a triumphant return as President of the United States in the upcoming sixth and final season of Netflix original series House of Cards, and this week has seen the release of two brilliant first look images showing Claire Underwood ready to take on the world. Ahead of the batch of new episodes a little later this year, you can check out the pair of pictures below:
Wright is joined in the final season by Diane Lane and Greg Kinnear, as well as Cody Fern, Michael Kelly, Jayne Atkinson, Patricia Clarkson, Constance Zimmer, Derek Cecil, Campbell Scott and Boris McGiver.
Wright also serves as an executive producer on the sixth season, alongside Melissa James Gibson, Frank Pugliese, David Fincher, Joshua Donen, Dana Brunetti, Eric Roth, Michael Dobbs and Andrew Davies.
Production on House of Cards season 6 was thrown into disarray when those working on the show had to kick Kevin Spacey off the series, following allegations of sexual harassment and assault throughout his career. What this has meant however, is that Wright will now be allowed to lead the series through its final outing. With the brilliance she’s brought to the role of Claire Underwood, audiences know she’s more than capable of doing a fantastic job.
House of Cards season 6 is set to come to Netflix later this year. Seasons 1-5 of the critically-acclaimed political drama are available to stream on the platform now.
