Frank Underwood has announced his candidacy for president, and fans of House of Cards will be able to see exactly how his journey plays out when the fourth season of the critically-acclaimed show comes to Netflix on Friday, March 4, 2016.
The date announcement came in the form of a political advert which aired on CNN during the fifth Republican presidential debate.
"It's a new day in America. Today more people will go to work, return home to their families and sleep more soundly than ever before - all because one man refuses to settle, putting people before politics. That man is Frank Underwood," reads the narrator on the ad.
Played by Kevin Spacey, Underwood is a charismatic and ruthless contender for the White House.
Speaking into the camera, he says: "America, I am only getting started," before continuing off-screen: "I am Frank Underwood and I approve this message."
In addition to the ad, Netflix have launched a website at fu2016.com as well as the hashtag #FU2016.
