The Honeyz

The Honeyz were stunned stars of 'The Big Reunion' were so good at singing.

The girl group joined Liberty X, Atomic Kitten, B*Witched, Blue, Five and 911 - who also starred on the programme - to cover Wizzard's 1973 classic hit 'I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday' for charity, and admitted they were shocked at the level of talent some of their co-stars had.

Mariama Goodman - who is in the Honeyz alongside Celena Cherry and Heavenli Denton - exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I think people thought back in the day that no one could really sing in 90s pop bands.

"We all knew individually that we could sing but when we came to rehearsals [for this song] we were like, 'Wow', people were better than we thought they were.

"The biggest shock for me was Kevin [Simm] from Liberty X, people don't always hit their stride on a record, but he's ridiculously good."

Celena said: "I thought Kerry Katona couldn't sing, mainly because she always said on a lot of TV shows 'I'm s**t, I can't sing,' and she never used to sing in Atomic Kitten.

"So when we came to rehearsals I was pleasantly surprised, she's got a really lovely voice."

Heavenli added: "I think it comes with age. We were all young and thrust into it and we were nervous about singing."

The band also admitted they are surprised just how big 'The Big Reunion' has become.

Mariama said: "None of us realised how big this was going to be, we thought it would just be a documentary and one-off gig, it's been ridiculous.

"We've just had such an amazing year and we're stupidly happy to be here and releasing a Christmas single."
