Jeff Rawle returned to 'Hollyoaks' last night (21.10.20) as serial killer Silas Blissett.
The 69-year-old star stunned fans as he appeared on screen as the notorious murderer during the Channel 4 soap's 25th birthday episode on E4, and the 'Harry Potter' star was delighted to be part of the milestone.
Jeff said: "I am thrilled to be returning to be a part of Hollyoaks' 25th anniversary.
"I think Silas has had a big following over the last 10 years - I only just realised I started filming my first episode way back in 2010 - and even when Silas has not been on screen, we always know he’s out there somewhere.
"An ever-present offstage character is always a great role to play.
"Working on 'Hollyoaks' is an absolute delight.
"The actors and the production teams, the crews, have always been so kind and so much fun to work with.
"Silas is a great challenge but a very rewarding character to play."
The character was unveiled as the mystery blackmailer who had been threatening the McQueen family, Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe), Theresa (Jorgie Porter), Goldie (Chelsee Healey) John Paul (James Sutton), Sylver (David Tag), Nana (Diane Langton) and Cher (Bethannie Hare), but they are currently none the wiser about his return.
In 2016, Silas teamed up with 'The Gloved Hand Killer', Lindsey Butterfield (Sophie Austin), and they plotted to take out Mercedes.
But Mercedes talked him out of the plan and he ended up bumping off Lindsey instead.
He later fled the village and he hadn't been seen again until this week.
'Drop the Dead Donkey' star Jeff revealed Silas has returned to "put things right" with Mercedes.
Asked why his character is back in the village, he replied: "One word - McQueens. Unfinished business with Mercedes.
"She is 'The Queen' of the McQueens. The most elusive piece on his chessboard. Mercedes’ son, Bobby is Silas’s great-grandson.
"It has long been a cause of dark disquiet with Silas.
"The time has come to put things right."
Mercedes also gave viewers a shock on last night's episode, revealing she is pregnant.
What's more, Jeremy Edwards reprised his role as Kurt Benson, much to the surprise of his best friend Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard), who, along with the rest of the village, thought he had been killed in a jet ski accident in 1999.
And Yasmine Maalik (Haiesha Mistry) proposed to boyfriend Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins), who said yes.
