Hollyoaks' Nancy Hayton is to be stabbed, and Donna-Marie Quinn is to return to the village.
The Channel 4 soap have unveiled a 2020 trailer jam packed full of teasers, including a dramatic incident which will see teacher Nancy - played by Jess Fox - struck in the school playground as she tries to stop a fight between Sid Sumner (Billy Price), Imran Maalik (Ijaz Rana) and another teenager.
Sid is to be heavily involved in one of the soap's biggest storylines of the year when his cousin Jordan Price (Connor Calland) plans to recruit him and Juliet Quinn (Niamh Blackshaw) in a huge County Lines plot.
Jordan will groom Sid, Juliet, Charlie (Charlie Behan), and Ella (Erin Palmer) to carry out criminal activity throughout the year.
Elsewhere, the trailer shows Lucy-Jo Hudson is to reprise her role as Donna-Marie, who returns to the village to reunite with her daughter Juliet.
Jamie Lomas is returning as Warren Fox, and he is to kidnap his ex-wife Sienna Blake's (Anna Passey) boyfriend Brody Hudson (Adam Woodward).
But Sienna - who has twins Sophie and Sebastian with Warren, who previously took them away from her - is out for revenge.
She says: "I'm going to take back my children and show Warren Fox what it feels like to lose everything."
What's more, John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) and James Nightingale (Gregory Finnegan) look set to hook up, Mitchell Deveraux (Imran Adams) will come out, and the trailer also shows a first-look at Ashley Taylor Dawson's character Darren Osborne's battle with depression.
