Nadine Mulkerrin feels grateful her fiance Rory Douglas-Speed was at home during the coronavirus lockdown, so he could develop a "beautiful bond" with their son.
The 'Hollyoaks' actress joked she "might have lost the plot" if it had just been her and Reggie - who turned one last month - for most of 2020, but believes the nationwide lockdown was a blessing in disguise because her fellow 'Oaks' star was with them rather than "working flat-out" at the Channel 4 soap's studios.
She said: "Rory and Reggie have such a beautiful bond - Reggie's a proper daddy's boy.
"If Rory had been working flat-out at 'Hollyoaks', we never would have had that time as a family.
"It's great to have been a team, and for me to have had that support throughout the first year of Reggie's life."
She joked: "If it had been just me and Reggie, I might have lost the plot."
Nadine - who plays Cleo McQueen - is now back on the 'Oaks' set following her maternity leave, but admitted it is a "double-edged sword" because she wants to embrace all her co-stars but can't because of social distancing guidelines.
The 27-year-old star added to Inside Soap magazine: "It's amazing to be back, although its' a double-edged sword - I've not seen anyone in a year, so I just want to give them all a cuddle, but of course we're not allowed."
Nadine and Rory - who portrays Joel Dexter on the show - took young Reggie onto the 'Oaks' set last December to meet his "on-screen granddad" Jamie Lomas, who plays Joel's father Warren Fox.
Captioning a picture of Reggie with Jamie, Nadine wrote on Instagram: "My dads onscreen dad (sic)"
Jamie replied: "I love him"
