Holly Willoughby has been offered a dream cameo in 'Midsomer Murders'.
The 40-year-old presenter is a huge fan of the ITV murder mystery series, and she was surprised on Thursday (18.03.21) when stars Neil Dudgeon and Nick Hendrix appeared on 'This Morning' for an interview before revealing the huge news.
After her co-host Phillip Schofield teased there was something she didn't know, Neil said: "We’ve all had a big talk about who we want to appear on 'Midsomer', and we decided we want Holly Willoughby to appear in an episode of 'Midsomer Murders' very soon.
"I’ve been speaking to people upstairs and they’ve been speaking to your people. Holly please, I am emboldened here to offer you a role in 'Midsomer Murders.' "
Holly immediately shouted "yes", and was overcome with emotions after receiving such exciting news.
She added: "I’ve seen every episode since it started way back when. Are you serious?
"I mean, you’re going to have to kill me off really quickly as I’m terrible at acting."
However, Neil quipped: "That's never held us back in 'Midsomer.' "
Although the duo couldn't give away too many details about her upcoming role, they did promise she would have a substantial part in a future episode.
They even teased that Holly will either be murdered or revealed as a killer herself - "or something".
And it seems Holly already has some ideas for how she could be killed off on the show - which first aired in 1997 - as she suggested: "Can I die by eating chocolate? Because I saw an episode where somebody died by eating chocolate and I was like, 'That’s the way to go.' "
Nick said: "Yes, suggestions - if there’s a particular way that you want to go, we can do it."
