Helena Garcia says the "worst bit" about being on 'The Great British Bake Off' was having to "run out after every bake to pump milk".

The 41-year-old project manager was breastfeeding while competing on the bakery show, from which she and Michelle Evans-Fecci were both axed last night (24.09.19), and she now hopes to encourage other mothers to apply for the programme.

She said: "My best bit was making friendships for life. The worst bit for me was having to run out after every bake to pump milk as I was breastfeeding throughout my time on the series.

"I hope that is encouraging for other mothers.

"The production team were absolutely incredible at facilitating this and I was so grateful."

Helena also heaped praise on 'Bake Off' presenter Noel Fielding, admitting she always looked to him for "reassurance" when her bakes were being judged.

She said: "My gothmance with Noel was such a big part of the show for me, he was a complete life saver and anytime I was judged, I looked at him for reassurance.

"The reality with the whole goth thing is that I have never seen myself as a goth, although I do have a love for the dark side, witches and Halloween so I guess I am a goth."

Helena was gutted to leave but is pleased she was axed alongside her best friend Michelle after they failed to impress during the Roaring Twenties week.

She added: "I wanted to have the experience of a lifetime and I really got it!

"I got to halfway and it was a double elimination, so although bittersweet to leave it was really lovely to go with Michelle who was in exactly the same situation. We are the best of friends and on the phone all the time."
