Helen Flanagan is a "nervous wreck" after coming face-to-face with three armed burglars.
The former 'Coronation Street' star is "too scared" to return to her £2.2 million mansion after the intruders - who were wielding a saw and a screwdriver - ransacked the home she shares with soccer star boyfriend Scott Sinclair before fleeing with valuable jewellery on Monday night (17.06.13).
According to the Daily Mirror newspaper, Helen reportedly told a friend: "I can't cope with going back there - I don't feel safe in my own home any more. I could have been killed.
"It was the most frightening experience of my life. I was absolutely petrified. I'm a nervous wreck as a result of it.
"I haven't slept a wink for nearly 24 hours - I'm totally exhausted but I just can't sleep."
The 22-year-old actress and a female companion were both locked in a utility room by the burglars but it is believed the pair managed to call the police from a mobile phone and officers arrived just before midnight.
Police suspect the incident could have been prompted by a tweet Helen sent earlier in the day, revealing she was alone at the abode in Cheshire, north west England.
She wrote: "So super tired today - which makes me emotional sensitive and mental ha?? Can't wait to have my bf home. (sic)"
Fortunately Helen was not physically harmed during the ordeal.
Her spokesman said: "Helen has understandably been badly shaken by what happened to her, but thankfully she is unharmed.
"She is a fighter and is coping well."
She was spotted leaving the abode yesterday afternoon and is thought to be staying with a friend until she decides what to do next.
