The M People star was the first to be unmasked on Saturday's (01.01.22) show when she was revealed as Chandelier after going up against Doughnuts and she admitted she'd have been upset if the competition was judged on talent.

She said: "From some of the vocals that have come out, it’s not a singing show, it’s a guessing game.

"Now, if it was singing — and Doughnuts went through — I’d have something to say.”

After finding herself in a bottom three also featuring Firework and Mushroom, Heather was chosen by judges Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall, Rita Ora and Mo Gilligan to leave the competition - but the 'One Night in Heaven' singer feels like she "won" as none of them had recognised her distinctive voice after she went through six weeks of coaching to alter her vocals.

She added to The Sun newspaper: “For me, it wasn’t about winning, but I thought I won because nobody had a clue who I was. And that was the aim."

The panel had speculated that Chandelier could have been Jane McDonald, Elaine Paige, Rachel Riley or Debbie McGee.

After her exit was confirmed, Heather said: "Hilarious, as they were so off the mark!"

The 56-year-old singer's departure was followed on Sunday (02.01.22) by Gloria Hunniford, who was unmasked as the Snow Leopard.

Speaking about her experience on the show, the 81-year-old TV legend said: "I started to sing when I was seven, it was pre-TV days. I was making a few records but I haven't sang on stage for 27 years.

"I genuinely love this programme. I couldn't believe it when I was asked to take part!"
