Hayley Tamaddon is worried that she's too heavy to take part on skating show Dancing on Ice.

The 'Coronation Street' star was crowned the champion of the series four years ago, but she's concerned she won't be able to pull off the tricks this time because she's piled on the pounds.

She said: "I am 37 now. Lifts do hurt! Last time I was a stone lighter and this time I'm like, 'I'm really heavy, don't pick me up'.

"I really want to go back to how I looked last time.

"But it's not forever, it's just a couple of months.

"I've decided to embrace the curves and not stand next to [other contestants] Jorgie Porter or Beth Tweddle."

The stunning actress has been putting in all the hours in order to be ready for the first show, but she's already injured herself three times in training.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, she explained: "I've popped two ribs on my right side, I've hurt both wrists because of the moves we do in our routine and I've got a pulled muscle here in my tummy from throwing myself backwards all the time."

'Dancing on Ice' returns on Sunday (05.01.14) at 6:15pm on ITV.
