Hayley Atwell's 'Agent Carter' TV series is going ahead after being ordered for a full series.
American TV network ABC has commissioned the Marvel spin-off show, which will see the British actress reprise her role as Peggy Carter from smash hit 2011 movie 'Captain America'.
The period thriller - set in 1946 - will focus on Peggy as she becomes an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., the covert government agency tasked with dealing with the supernatural and unexplainable.
Hayley first played Peggy in 'Captain America', in which she was the female lead and love interest to Chris Evans' titular superhero.
She then reprised the role for a one-off short film, 'Agent Carter', which appeared as a bonus feature on the 'Iron Man 3' DVD last year.
Marvel and ABC, both owned by Disney, secretly began adapting the short into a TV series earlier this year.
The show is the second TV spin-off to stem from Marvel's hugely successful movies - which includes 'The Avengers', 'Iron Man', 'Captain America' and 'Thor' franchises - joining 'Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.', which also airs on ABC and on Channel 4 in the UK.
Hayley will be in good company on ABC as fellow Brit, Scottish actress Karen Gillan, will also star in a new American sitcom, 'Selfie'.
The former 'Doctor Who' star will play a self-centred woman who, after suffering a humiliating breakup, becomes the subject of a viral video and decides to hire a marketing expert to help repair her tarnished reputation.
