Harry Potter has been a beloved franchise since 2001, with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone; and this year (2021) marks 20 years since its release. Sky and NOW will be celebrating the franchise this festive season!
Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts and Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses in the UK and Ireland will debut on New Year’s Day (January 1st, 2022), and will provide a plethora of entertainment for fans of Harry Potter.
The anniversary special will see Daniel Radcliffe, Ruper Grint and Emma Watson join filmmaker Christ Columbus, as well as other exciting cast members from all eight Harry Potter movies as they all go back to Hogwarts to celebrate the anniversary of the first film in the franchise: Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
The upcoming reminiscent special aims to tell a magical story about the making of the first movie via in-depth interviews and conversations between cast members. Fans of the Harry Potter franchise will be invited on an adventure through one of the most beloved and adored franchises in the history of cinema.
Alumni of the franchise will also be joining the iconic tribute, including Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, with Evanna Lynch and Ian Hart, and even more guests set to appear.
December 29th will also be host to a very special event: Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses on Sky and NOW, an enchanting four-part event hosted by the wonderful Helen Mirren (Red).
The show will highlight the ultimate fan glory on a scale never seen before. Fans of the Wizarding World will put their impressive knowledge of Harry Potter to the test for the honour of being awarded the title of House Cup champion.
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Tournament of Houses will feature hundreds of trivia questions and special guests; this event is set to be a memorable and nostalgic way to remember the start of an iconic franchise.
To complete this Harry Potter extravaganza, Sky and NOW will also be the home of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, which will be joining the full Harry Potter series on a Wizarding World 20th Anniversary pop-up channel, which is set to go live on December 19th, 2021.
