The McFly drummer was shocked to triumph in the finale of the ITV show on Tuesday night (17.08.21), after he overcame Denise Van Outen in the final cook-off.

Praising his mentor, celebrity chef Nisha Katona, Harry wrote on Instagram: "Thanks for all your messages! Can’t believe I won a cooking show. Mainly down to Nisha’s amazing teaching and recipes @mowglistreetfood #cookingwiththestars @itv @marksandspencer (sic)"

Denise - who was mentored by Italian chef Francesco Mazzei - congratulated Harry on the victory.

She commented: "You smashed it.congratulations to you and @nishakatona . Both kitchen legends (sic)"

AJ Odudu - who made the final three, but was knocked out just before the last cook-off - wrote: "We can't believe it either! [crying-laughing emoji] Just kidding. You rock: congratulations (sic)"

Harry had a scare in the final cook as he cut his hand open, losing him vital seconds as he was bandaged up.

Nisha admitted afterwards she "could not be more proud" of the 35-year-old star after he swapped his drum sticks for some sharp knives to great, and "blood-soaked" success.

She wrote: "Harry Judd wins! And I couldn’t have been paired with a more fantastic chap. It was as gruelling and blood soaked as you saw- if not more- could not be more proud or honoured to cook with this absolute star @mcflyharry @harryjudd #cookingwiththestars (sic)"

Harry impressed the judges by making Nisha’s signature dish, Indian Chat Bombs, and he later remade his favourite dish from the series, an Indian bridal thali.

Speaking before the finale, Nisha said: "Harry was one that couldn’t cook and here he is making one of the most fiendish dishes on the Indian menu."

Harry said: "I can’t believe I’ve made it to the final! My cookery skills up to now have involved microwaves and toasters … my signature dish at home is scrambled eggs!

"I never dreamed that I’d make it this far and it’s all thanks to Nisha’s amazing mentoring.

"At the start of the competition I thought my chances of winning were very limited, especially after all the kitchen injuries – I’ve been bandaged up more times than I could count.

"Everyone’s said I’m the dark horse in the competition and now I’d absolutely love to win the show … I’m up for the fight."
