'Harry Hill's TV Burp' will "never come back".
A writer for the ITV2 series has revealed that toward the end of its 11-year-run, TV bosses turned on the popular show and blocked them from mocking programmes including ITV's 'Coronation Street' and BBC One's 'EastEnders' - but Channel 4 were the worst culprits.
David Quantick said: "TV Burp will never come back because TV companies are wise. There is a thing in telly called 'fair dealing', which means you can show anything for free, as long as you're reviewing it.
"You're not supposed to take the mickey out of it and say (Corrie star) 'Beverley Callard looks like a fire extinguisher'. You're supposed to make erudite comments.
"Channel 4, I can reveal, were b******s because we would ask for a clip and they'd say, 'It's too sensitive'.
"You're like, 'It's not that sensitive when you're showing a documentary called [something like] 'I'm a Stupid Disabled Person'."
And the writer admitted that frontman Harry was irreplaceable after he finally decided to quit in 2012.
He said: "There was talk [about] doing it with someone else. But, the thing is, it wouldn't work.
"If it had been anybody else, the humour would have been ordinary."
Meanwhile, the comedian, 47, confessed at the time that the show turned into "extreme boredom and extreme stress" for him because of the pressure to turn out so many episodes.
He said: "They never let me do just eight shows, and if they had, I could have gone on till they carried me off.
"I think, in the end, we just about avoided it going a bit s**t."
