Actor David Mazouz, who plays Bruce Wayne in origins series Gotham may have revealed a little more than he should have at the recent Heroes and Villains Fan Fest in London this past weekend. Speaking to Movie Pilot, he said that Harley Quinn WILL be making her debut in next week’s Gotham season 3 two-part season finale, encouraging them to “stay tuned”.
Announcing this has certainly got the fans talking, with the rumours of Barbara Keen (Erin Richards) making a once unexpected turn into Harley bubbling to the surface once more. Of course, the hints she would become Quinn in the past could have been very clever red herrings, and we could be about to see somebody entirely different take up the mantle of the Clown Princess of Crime.
Quinn has gained a more open presence in the mainstream DC offerings as of late, with the character being played by Margot Robbie in the Suicide Squad film and the character also expected to be a part of the Gotham City Sirens film that’s planned for the near future.
Here though, she’s often been talked about but never announced. Now that this has all changed, could we be close to seeing the most interesting and compelling version of Quinn to-date? Or will the Gotham writers score an own goal with their bringing the Clown Princess to the small screen?
Gotham concludes next Monday on FOX in the US and is expected to return to the UK on Channel 5 later this year.
