Bryan Fuller still has hope that a new broadcasting partner could come onboard and revive Hannibal, after both Amazon and Netflix passed on picking up the show.
Since NBC cancelled the series last month, a search for a new network has been ongoing, but actors have now been released from their contracts meaning that they can accept other work.
Asked by a fan on Twitter what the status of the search was, Fuller replied:
The writer has been extremely candid about the future of its show since it was cancelled, acknowledging that there's just a "50/50 chance" of a fourth season coming to fruition.
He also admitted he wasn't surprised that NBC axed the thriller, due to dwindling network ratings.
Despite the American ratings falling to new lows, a fan petition currently sits at 76,000 signatures in a bid to save the series.
