'X Factor' hopeful Hannah Barrett is attempting to win the show in memory of her dead father.

The 17-year-old wannabe wowed judges Sharon Osbourne, Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger with her rendition of Professor Green's 'Read All About It' after revealing her father, Wayne, died months before her 10th birthday.

Hannah - who also revealed to the panellists she had been kicked out of her mother's house - told The Sun newspaper: "After my dad died, I'm not going to lie, I started to feel like I couldn't concentrate in school. I'd get in trouble and I started to get angry and think, 'Why has he gone? Everyone else has a dad.'

"After he died I thought the only way I could be closer to him was through music. I feel like he is watching over me. I'll try to win it for my dad."

The A-level student - who admits she fell into the wrong crowd of friends - insisted she has "too much of a conscience" to fall onto the wrong side of the law and has reconnected with her mother since her appearance on the ITV talent show.

She added: "We are rebuilding our relationship, it's getting better. We're taking baby steps but she's proud of me."

Meanwhile, 'X Factor' favourite Tamera Foster is "upset" and "ashamed" following talks with ITV bosses over her boastful tweets on Twitter about smoking "zoom", which is marijuana laced with class-A drug PCP.

The 16-year-old wannabe told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "I'm upset and ashamed by my actions and realise how stupid I was. I never meant to encourage or endorse the use of drugs. It's no excuse, but this was several months ago and I've done a lot of growing up since then.

"I really want to move on from this and focus on my passion, music, and doing well in the competition."

Tamera was told she had major "potential" by Gary after a stunning solo performance on Sunday night (01.09.13), despite forgetting her lyrics early on.

She first appeared on the show on Saturday (31.08.13) as part of duo Silver Roc with fellow hopeful Jerrie Dila before going solo.
