Gregg Wallace told his wife he wants separate bedrooms when they have children.
The 51-year-old chef - who already has grown-up children Tom, 22 and Libby, 19, with his second spouse Denise Wallace - is happy to have kids with new spouse Anna-Marie Sterpini but warned her his age and career means he can't face sleepless nights.
He said: "I was very honest and said, 'Look, I've got to be in front of the camera, I'm in my 50s, I can't have sleepless nights. We'll have to have separate bedrooms after the baby is born. And she said, 'I understand.' "
However, the 'Masterchef' star and his wife won't have to take such drastic measures as Anna's mother, Rina, has agreed to move in with them in order to take care of the night feeds once they have a baby.
Gregg added: "Two weeks later, Rina took me aside and said, 'Anna told me what you said about separate beds.'
"I tried to explain and she went, 'You're not going to sleep with your wife? That's not right. You said you wanted me to move in after the baby arrives, so I'll do the night shifts.' So that's sorted."
Gregg admits he is anxious at the thought of having another baby later in life, but doesn't think it would have been right not to have children with Anna.
He told HELLO! magazine: "To my mind, any man who tells a woman, 'I don't want us to have children' doesn't love her.
"Sure, I have some concerns about being an older dad but I am probably fitter now than I've ever been in my whole life."
