'Great British Bake Off' winner Candice Brown is opening her own pub.
The 2006 winner has bought The Green Man in Eversholt in Bedfordshire with it set to open in February and she wants to make it one of the country's top gastro pubs serving delicious Sunday roasts and the best of British grub.
Former teacher Candice grew up in the pub trade as her parents ran boozers in north London and she insists if any punters have too much to drink she'll tell them to "get outta my pub" just like legendary 'EastEnders' Queen Vic landlady Peggy Mitchell - who was played by Dame Barbara Windsor.
Speaking to BANG Showbiz at the premiere of Cirque du Soleil's 'TOTEM' show at the Royal Albert Hall in London, she revealed: "I've just bought a pub, I want to do the best Sunday lunches, and comforting, warming and hearty food. I'm an ambassador for Love British Food, so I work with the farmers to promote that seasonal and local produce is when food is at its best.
"It's called The Green Man in Eversholt, I'm hoping it will be open in mid-February, it's so exciting. I was brought up in pubs with my brother and I want this to be a real family affair.
"I would love to be able to go, 'Get out of my pub!' I'm dying to do that, but it won't be that sort of pub, I think."
Candice and her husband Liam Macaulay are working with her brother Ben and his girlfriend Sophie to make the pub a success and she's thrilled to be getting the chance to work with her family.
She added: "It's been a real family affair. A real baptism of fire but it's going to be amazing. I got it with my brother Ben, so his girlfriend Sophie is involved too."
