‘Great British Bake Off’ star Janusz Domagala doesn’t know where his missing spring roll went.
The 34-year-old personal assistant took to social media with Prime Ministerial flair to provide a tongue-in-cheek update about the whereabouts of his AWOL baked good - which was part of the technical challenge of eight spring rolls and a dipping sauce given by judges Dame Prue Leith, 82, and Paul Hollywood, 56 - that sparked mass confusion as to its whereabouts on the Channel 4 baking show.
In a video posted to TikTok on Wednesday (02.11.2022), he said behind a Downing Street backdrop : “People of Britain. As a result of the recent events that took place in the tent last night, I stand before you as a mostly honest man, to discuss the missing spring roll.
“Firstly, I would like to apologise to you, the people who live in my phone. Secondly, I would like to explain what happened. I don’t know what happened! I think I definitely made eight spring rolls but clearly only seven were fried."
Janusz hoped the broadcast gave the matter the required “clarity and closure” so it could be put to bed.
He said: “Safe to say, Prue thought they looked so good she may have eaten one raw. Who knows? I hope this offers some clarity and closure to spring roll-gate and that the people of Britain and the whole wide world can sleep again."
Janusz - who still managed to snag second in the technical - will bake again in the semi-final of the Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding-fronted show alongside Syabira, Abdul and Sandro after Maxy was sent packing after what Prue deemed to be a disappointing week in the tent on Tuesday (01.11.2022).
Upon her departure, the 29-year-old architect said: “It’s really sad to go but I’m happy and I’m proud i made it this far.”
