'The Great British Bake Off' had a double elimination this week as Rebs and James left the show.
After Mexican Week, judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith decided to cut the pair following a twist last week when no one was up for eviction after Rebs and Abdul missed Bread Week due to illness.
However, on Tuesday night (04.10.22) the decision was made, and Prue explained: "Poor Rebs, but her flavours were just too strong, and too many of them.
"I am always sad to see bakers go, but particularly James. He had a rotten week and his Showstopper was a real disappointment."
Her co-star Paul added: "It’s hard in this tent, and next week we are halfway through."
The duo have both penned heartwarming letters reflecting on their experiences in the tent on the Channel 4 show.
James wrote: "I have never had such an amazing bunch of people around me; both the bakers and the Bake Off team.
"No one has motivated me to improve and develop, cannot wait to see how the future goes.
"Big love, good vibes, stay spooky!"
Meanwhile, Rebs compared her 'Bake Off' journey to riding "on a magic carpet".
She said: "Oh my days! Was I really on Bake Off?!
"I grew up watching fabulous women in my family baking and, after only turning to baking, really, during lockdown, I never dreamed I'd be on my favourite show!
"Being on Bake Off is like taking a ride on a magic carpet... I'd do it all again if I could!"
Like James, she also praised the crew and their fellow contestants.
She continued: "I'm so grateful for this year's bakers who have become another family to me, I learn from their epic talent every day.
"Also a shoutout to everyone behind the scenes who made it all possible."
