Playing James Gordon in the new series Gotham is clearly a job that comes with its dangers.
Actor Ben McKenzie who was filming on the set of the show during his 36th birthday on Friday, September 12 shared the following image on Instagram:
Filming a fight scene led to the wound after McKenzie banged his head against a concrete pillar, but work at New York-Presbyterian from 'Doc Sherman' means he'll be fit to return to work on Monday.
Gotham is the new FOX series exploring the origins of some of the biggest characters to come from the DC world.
James Gordon will take centre-stage in the early days of his police career, doing his best to rid his city of evil.
Penguin, The Riddler, Mr Freeze and more are all characters to be explored in the series.
Gotham debuts on Monday, September 22 on FOX in the US, before an October premiere in the UK on Channel 5.
