'Good Morning Britain' was hit with "technical issues" this morning (24.05.21) as Bill Turnbull made his return as guest co-host after just four hours sleep.

The 65-year-old TV presenter admitted he was "delighted beyond words" to be back on the show, alongside his former 'BBC Breakfast' co-host Susanna Reid, who revealed the 'GMB' director has been "having nightmares" as some of the set's screens weren't working today.

But Bill didn't have as much shut-eye as he intended either, after his Chinese takeaway delivery eventually turned up last night (23.05.21) after an hour and 55 minutes.

He said: "They very kindly cooked it again and sent a very nice man on a bicycle and I watched him coming very, very slowly on his bike.

"So I was eating 20 minutes after I should've been asleep."

Speaking sarcastically, he said: "I'm in a really good mood this morning as a result."

Susanna asked Bill if he had suffered "nightmares" last night, and he admitted that while he didn't sleep that well he still found time to get up and do a spot of yoga this morning.

He said: "Always first time back on an early I never sleep properly anyway.

"But I got up early and I did my yoga.

"I've always done that, 10 to 15 minutes of yoga to get the blood flowing. Downward dog and all that.

"We can have a go later, Susanna. There's plenty of space here on the floor.

"Before we finish on Wednesday, we should do a session on the floor ..."

He joked: "I mean of yoga!"

Susanna replied: "Steady on, Bill Turnbull. We have known each other a long time."

The 50-year-old TV presenter then revealed the studio's screens were not working.

She said: "Unfortunately, we do have a few technical issues this morning, so the director has been having nightmares overnight as well.

"We do have our screens, but you'll notice they are currently blank."

Bill was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017, with the disease later spreading to his spine, ribs, pelvis, hips and legs - but the star, who is using hemp and an £8,000 hyperbaric chamber to treat his inoperable cancer, admitted he is "feeling great".

He said: "The cannabis is CBD, it's actually hemp and it's not officially cannabis.

"It's all legal.

"I'm feeling great, I'm feeling really good."

Bill previously co-hosted 'BBC Breakfast' with Susanna until she departed for ITV in 2014.

The pair shared an emotional reunion on 'GMB' in February 2020 when he stepped in for her then-co-host Piers Morgan, who quit the programme earlier this year.
